Congratulations to Denise Kehoe for representing Team USA in the World Triathlon Championship!

"I have been a triathlete for 10 years, and three years ago, I was injured with a hip labral tear. After the injury, I could barely ride in a car, and there were five weeks during which I could not sleep. I thought, if anyone can cure me, it’s someone that has experience working with athletes. When I met with the American Hip Institute team, they gave me hope that I would be able to return to triathlons. 

The team did not believe I needed surgery and instead advised me to continue physical therapy and recommended PRP injections. After I received the injections, it was a slow recovery process, but the clinical team prepared me for that. In the following months, however, I experienced incredible improvement. In fact, by the next year, I was able to compete in the Triathlon National Championships. As I returned to competitions for the first time since my injury, I was very afraid that I would tear something again. My experience was quite the contrary. I performed at the high level I was accustomed to before my injury, and the entire experience was pain-free. 

A few months after Nationals, I received a phone call from the USA Triathlon informing me that I qualified for the World Triathlon Championships in Montreal! I was absolutely thrilled to receive the honor of representing Team USA on the world stage. I had a great performance at the World Championships, much of which I credit to the awesome job done by the American Hip Institute team. 

Everyone at American Hip Institute–from the receptionists to the clinic team to the financial department–was extremely professional. I am eternally grateful to American Hip Institute for allowing me to have a triumphant return to triathlons!"
